Port of Long Beach

As a subconsultant to WSP, SafeworkCM provided safety oversight, labor, DBE and PLA compliance and office administration as part of the PM/CM oversight team for POLB’s Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement project. Since the inception of the project, SafeworkCM has worked alongside Port staff and consultants through each challenge with professionalism and integrity. In addition, involvement in the planning and execution of demolition of connections to the old Gerald Desmond Bridge from the 710 Freeway, Pier T East and West bound on/off ramps, plus North and South bound Ocean Blvd connectors gives our team knowledge of hazards and risks, site specific requirements for stakeholder assets and relationships to facilitate project success.

LA Metro

SafeworkCM provides construction management support services including resident engineering, inspection and safety services support services to Metro as part of the joint venture with AECOM and two other DBE firms. The Purple Line Segment 2 Project entails the construction of the second section of a three-section, 9-mile underground heavy rail line that will extend the existing Metro Purple line along Wilshire Boulevard to a new western terminus in West Los Angeles near the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Westwood. SafeworkCM’s team has extensive knowledge of underground construction in urban city environments including associated utility relocation, maintenance facility structures and traction power systems.

The Metro

The Metro Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project, scheduled to open late 2018, will extend from the existing Metro Exposition Line at Crenshaw and Exposition Boulevards and travel 8.5 miles to the Metro Green Line’s Aviation/LAX Station. The project goal is to improve public transit service and mobility in the Crenshaw Corridor between Wilshire and El Segundo Boulevards and connect the Metro Green Line and the Expo Line. The project includes construction of 6 stations, a maintenance facility, park and ride lots and traction power substations. Safework is providing staff to perform construction inspection services during utility relocation and demolition of structures and buildings that currently exists on the Metro property. Later in the project, heavy construction will begin in after relocation of utilities and demolition take place. Safework staff will provide track inspection and civil inspection during this phase.
